The cellos of the Mount Vernon Virtuosi, with Amit Peled as director and soloist, present a seasonal program of music for low strings.

Spencerville Choir and Orchestra
Lessons and Carols
The Spencerville Sanctuary choir (and friends), with chamber orchestra and organ, will present a traditional service of lessons and carols, featuring arrangements by Barlow Bradford. Join your voices with the choir and strings in singing favorite carols of the season.

Concert pianist and Van Cliburn Competition winner Alexander Kobrin continues his journey, started last season, through the piano sonatas of Ludwig van Beethoven.

Music of Rachmaninoff
Our winter piano series continues, in celebration of the rebuilding of our Steinway D concert grand. Pianist Jonathan Mamora plays a concert of works by Sergei Rachmaninoff, including the two piano sonatas, Opus 28 and 36, pillars of the piano repertoire.

"Shout for Joy"
The Pro Musica is the select choral ensemble from Washington Adventist University and has a long association with the concert series at Spencerville Church. Under their current director, Anwar Ottley, they will present an inspiring program of sacred choral music, including the Missa Brevis by Kodály, and "Shout for Joy" by Adolphus Hailstorm.

Spring Concert
Spencerville's Minister of Music, Michael Patterson, leads the orchestra and choir in two masterworks by Viennese composers: Mass in G by Franz Schubert, and the Choral Fantasie by Ludwig van Beethoven.

"Dvorak with a spin"
We close our concert season with a performance by the Mount Vernon Virtuosi in a program of works by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák. Guest conductor Barak Tail will lead the ensemble in the Serenade for Strings, and the Virtuosi's Artistic Director will take the solo stage in a performance of Dvořák's Cello Concerto, in a special arrangement for string accompaniment.
